Hello everyone!
I haven’t updates this page since the website went live in January, so here is a well overdue revamp to the waffle contained herein!
Its been an awesome year so far, we started gigging in January and things have been progressing nicely. We’ve met some fantastic bands with great people and made some friends as well as good contacts. I don’t think you will find anywhere else in the music business a less assuming, hardworking bunch of musicians as there are on the UK unsigned scene at the moment. There are some great songs being written and I hope some of them reach mainstream ears as they deserve to do.
We’ve done a hell of a lot of work ourselves, but have received invaluable help from friends and other bands/promoters across the UK.
Now focused on bigger shows and festivals for the summer, we’re performing at festivals in Portsmouth and Kent. Its not too late to book us for your festival (if you are organising one!) so please get in touch!
I think we’ve achieved a strong identity and gained a better understanding of how to convey our material to the audience. We seem to receive excellent feedback wherever we perform, which is encouraging while you travel 100 miles+ for a half hour support slots!
We’ve added three new songs to the set (which you should start to hear being played over the next couple of gigs) and started planning a self-funded album for Autumn/Winter.
Thus, I’ve removed the blurb which adorned this page and replaced it with this sort of blog. Its as tough as I expected it to be to ‘make it’ in music; but its also twice as much fun as I expected- most of the time!
Guess I should just leave in the stuff about being a drummer as well as a singer songwriter. I was musical director and drummer for the University of Portsmouth Big Band while I was a student; that’s where I met most of the ‘Elizans’. I’ve got my own swing band too as well as a covers band that I work with from time to time called ‘Jack Rabbit’.
I work as a designer by day, but by night, I’m transformed into a 1930’s throw-back indie-rock front man! And if that isn’t multiple personality disorder, I’ll eat my hat!
